In this lesson, students review the processes involved in pingo, ice wedge polygon, and thermokarst formation, and then explore those features on the Martian surface. (NOTE: Prior to this lesson, you may wish to complete the Level III-IV classroom lesson “Polygons, Pingos, and Thermokarst! Oh my!” which introduces the formation process of polygons, pingos, and explains thermokarst.)
