In this lesson, students will measure the speed of molasses (at two different temperatures) flowing down a slope. The viscosity of a fluid is a measure of how much a fluid resists flow. The viscosity of molasses is dependent upon temperature, just as the viscosity of a pähoehoe lava flow is dependent upon temperature.
