Waves of Light

In this lesson, students learn about the properties of the electromagnetic spectrum, including the wavelengths of visible light, ultraviolet energy, and infrared energy. Students will learn why scientists rely on electromagnetic waves outside the visible spectrum to detect the poisonous gases emitted from volcanoes.
